Thing 14 & 15 – feed reader

I actually set up a new igoogle account so that all the usernames and passwords were generic. It’s easy to start off a bit backward, I had too many things all over the place, as you can see by the order in which this blog is done. It is not 1 to 23 straight forward. There are reasons for this. It does depend on which computer I am working mainly.
Phew, that was an epic jouney following all those instructions. That will become clearer over time I think, and with more use. I followed the google reader notes, now I feel agoggle.
Yes I do have about 4 subscriptions now. even nasa.
I hope to add more in due course.
home to the backyarrd for some planting. the weather is too good!

This looks like it coud be a groovy little device to get the ball rolling (amonst people who have to create something or get info together in one place)and less emails to send. I have sent two out to people and await eagerly to see if I get any returns. I think it could possibly pose a lot of competition to microsoft office. I can think of a lot of ways to use this in my area of work. I like it.

This seems to open a world. Very interesting. When will I get time for this and how will I find my way out of there? I came out before I got lost, but starting to see how to subscribe to feeds and find users and join them to my network. There’s a lot of learning there, in the familiarization of the system, and then there is all the interesting stuff people are into. Wow!

thing 12 or so

thing 12 or so

This is a strangely named appliance to house things of interest to you if you happen to be interstate or at least on different computers all the time. Which just happens to be the case, so I thought it could be useful and I am putting the sites on necessary for me to complete this little assignment. Have to play with this, because when I tagged with a space between a two worded tag – I ended up with 2 tags.Huh??

Yeah well, it all looks pretty exciting and exposed. facebook links connections which is good But it also poses a threat, politically- if the government wants to incriminate a person.
It is exposure, so it has to have two sides.I read also in the educause Pdf that the “seemingly endless web of connections – pose a risk for never-ending wandering, seeing who knows who, who likes what, and how it all fits together, with no particular goal in mind.”
That’s the problem- all this cyber flying wastes a lot of valuable time of your life and time 4 relationships.
What of the future? Educators are looking at it from the ‘creative’ side- expression, communication, learning etc.. Students would become multiskilled at relaying different styles of personalities…facebook is potentially creative, somewhat scarey too..develops a new state of mind perhaps??
My kids helped me develop a my space. It’s a lovely 3-D interface. 13 yr old daughter very fast at it. I couldn’t get rid of my birthday on the front page, so I don’t like it now. Teaching?? I’m not sure where it fits yet.

I use google images all the time. mY STS discovered that you can find the refugee camps on google image: “mae La” camp, there were squeals of delight. I’m not sure on the copyright laws here though.

ALthough, on data projector, you have to be careful. There are some horrific images also. (iran)that is quite upsetting, but it’s great if you want an image for language learning., I make a lot of work sheets this way, ie teaching, nouns, adjectives, adverbs, verbs. ” The man ran fast”, it’s really an unlimited resource.

‘Sudan’ images- a close reminder of our poverty stricken world.
